The third annual Carrboro Anarchist Bookfair will be held on November 9th, 10th and 11th.
In the past two years these bookfairs have served as a gathering place and melting pot of radical ideas and texts, workshops and discussions, and action in our region. Long-time friends and comrades, book lovers and firebrands, and the openly curious are all invited to attend.
On Saturday, November 10th, the bookfair will be running all day, from 11am to 7pm, at the Nighlight, at 405 1/2 W. Rosemary St., Chapel Hill, NC.
Many workshops during the Bookfair will be held at Internationalist Books – come visit us and check out the schedule of events in the store:
Saturday, November 10th:
12pm – Deep Ecology and the Struggle Against Fracking, by Croatan EF!
12pm – Spoken Word on Prisons and Policing, by recent graduate of the NC state prison system, Miles P. Coltrane, @ the Nightlight.
1pm – Snapbacks and Tattoos: RICO and the Crime of Being Criminal
2:30pm – The Oakland Commune and Beyond
3:30pm – Don’t Die Wondering: Atlanta Against the Police Winter 2011-2012
4:30 pm – Birth and the Prison Industrial Complex @ the Nighlight
4:30 pm – Copwatch in Chapel Hill/Carrboro, presentation and discussion
6:00 – Grand Jury Resistance in the Pacific Northwest
There are additional events scheduled throughout the weekend, including a game of Fugitive on Friday night, discussions and assemblies on Sunday, and a show, dance party, and general revelry at the Chapel Hill Underground on Saturday at 9:30 PM, 157 E. Rosemary St., with Retina (gso punks), Sibbanac (locals), DJ American Lesion and DJ Ethan.
